Daddy's Big Race Day

This past Sunday morning Charley, Tom, and Tom's dad left early to complete the goal they had been working on since this summer-to run the White Rock Half Marathon. The girls made signs for Charley the night before and we left early to cheer him on at mile 6 and mile 9. The girls were very excited to see their daddy run by. My sister and Ethan also came and we were their with Amber, her mother in law and girls so we were a great cheering sight for the dads. Katie kept saying Go Daddy Run fast!! There were so many runners it was quite a sight. There is a picture below but it does not do it justice. Charley stopped at mile 6 to say hi very briefly. He looked so good at mile 6 like he could run another 6 and he did. We waved at mile 9 but it was all uphill so he just kept going. Lots of people were walking up the hill so we were proud of Charley for running. We met up with him after the race and all our cheering group. They were all excited about finishing and are even considering doing it next year. Charley is having some knee trouble right now but should be fine soon. The girls threw him a I'm sorry your knee hurts party last night in their playroom. Kylee really wrote those words on a piece of paper and put food all around it to try to help daddy! These girls love their daddy as do I!! Way to Go Charley, we are so proud of you!!!

This is mile 9, Charley wanted me to point out that the man in yellow is walking but he is about to pass him.

Look at that crowd running uphill

The runners

Our whole cheering crew with the runner. Kylee and Anna really loved the medals their dads "won" so they are wearing them.

That is SO awesome! I'm kind of jealous as weird as that sounds. I really want to be running more and run a long race like that. Work and life just seem to interfere with that whole excercising thing. Go Charley!
