Tagged and Soccer

I was tagged again by a college friend, Ashlee, so I will do a different tag. And then tell about Kylee's first soccer game.

What was I doing 10 years ago?
1. Charley and I were about to celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary.
2. I was just about to finish my 1st year of teaching Kindergarten at a tiny preschool in Searcy.
3. Charley would be graduating soon so we were both filling out applications and preparing for a big move and change as a married couple. It is so weird to look back and see how God blessed us with our decisions and has walked us through every step.

5 Favorite snacks
1. Coke
2. Anything Chocolate
3. Popcorn
4. String Cheese
5. BBQ chips

Thing I would do If I was a Billionaire
1. Give to the Lord
2. Give to Camp Wyldewood
3. Pay off our debt and our families
4. Charley and I love Home Makeover show so we have always talked about wanting to give homes to people like the Home Makeover show style. We even have a name of it and everything so I would do this.
5. Pay for girls college, weddings, and for their future childrens education.

5 Jobs I have had:
1. Swim Coach
2. Swim Lesson Teacher
3. Lifeguard
4. Counselor at Camp Wyldewood
5. Teacher of K and 1st grades

3 Bad Habits
1. A coke a day
2. Watching TV every night before bedtime
3. Have to have something sweet after dinner every night even if it is just a bite

5 Places I have lived
I have not lived in 5 different places.

Now on to our 1st Soccer game. Kylee is playing in an Upward soccer league that is so fun and I love that we have scripture memory work, devotionals and the kids get positive motivation stickers after each game that are full of good character. Kylee is having fun which I tell her is the most important thing. She has a smile on her face most the time and has touched the ball a couple times the first game and then this last week really kicked the ball and was into the game more. This is her first team sport to play so anything is fine with me. The first week she earned the Best Effort sticker and this week Best Sportsmanship. We were so proud of her. She has a fun team with sweet coaches and a couple really good soccer players so she is learning from them all. She is also really enjoying that you get a snack after the game. I put some pics of Katie having fun at the game. She wants to drink all of sisters water bottle and loved shaking hands after the game was over, so cute.

7 Random Things and Bluebonnet Pics

One of my best friends from college, Traci, tagged me to do a 7 random things about me blog so here it goes.

1. I have to watch TV to go to sleep at night. I know very bad habit.

2. I watch the weather every morning. My girls know this and can even name the traffic girl that comes on right before the weather. Kylee told her teachers last year that my favorite TV show was weather:)

3. I have a very big vomiting phobia. So much that the first time Kylee threw up we were driving in the car. I had to pull into the Kroger parking lot and call Charley to come meet us there so he could come clean it up. I waited outside the car dry heaving until he got there (less than 5 minutes). Again a horrible thing. God has blessed me with this though and the girls hardly ever vomit and when they do I have a great husband who takes that role of caregiver.

4. I recently decided if I am ever in WalMart or Target and am waiting to check out ( if I am by myself) and someone comes behind me with kids, I will let them cut in front of me. I did this once. This all started after a lady with 100 million groceries raced me down to get to the only checkout in Target. Literally cut me off when I am there with 2 kids and less than 10 items. So I swore that day I would never do this and I would take it a step further and let them have my spot.

5. I can't sew at all, not even a button.

6. I talk to my mom and sister on the phone almost every day. It is rare to not talk to them.

7. I just got a new camera. I would not consider myself a good photographer but I really want to learn to be an OK photographer so I bought a quick good camera and am going to practice. So here are my first practice shots. Charley and I took the girls to a Bluebonnet patch today and practiced with the new camera. Here are the pictures, remember I just got it this week, so I thought they turned out pretty cute since I am still learning. I just love those little girls:)

The Playset Is FINALLY Finished!!!

As of Sunday afternoon the long, tiring project of the play set is done and ready to play on. It started in, what seemed like to those working on it, one million pieces and later became a great play set the girls are loving. My dad, Charley and his dad began the task Easter weekend that soon turned into my dads project. Charley has been really busy and my dad had some extra time on his hands so he worked on it by himself for the last couple of weeks. My dad is very handy and he didn't let me down with this project. Thanks Dad!!! My girls both made him Thank you notes today.

The finished project. The top part has a door that opens into a playhouse. It has a bell, mailbox, chimney, rock wall, fun slide, and the girls favorite part... the glider and swing. The 2 pictures below are the very two first things they did on it when they finally got to play on it:)

Kylee told me to take her picture and she was going to do silly faces and to post them on my blog. So for her sake here are 2 silly face pictures. She did a lot more but this is plenty for us all to view.

Every waking minute since this has been put up the girls have asked to play on it. So I think they both love their birthday present and hope many more fun hours will be spent on it.

Happy 5th Birthday Kylee!!!

On April 9 2003 at 3:29 p.m. I began my journey into motherhood with the birth of my precious Kylee Brooke. She weighed 7lbs. 2 oz and was 21 inches long and as beautiful as any mommy would dream. She came out screaming and kept screaming for about 8 weeks. Yes, she was colicky and made my start to learning about being a mommy very hard (but since this is her birthday blog I will only say happy, cheerful things). I instantly loved her and thought she was amazing. I looked at her this morning and thought how did you grow up so fast into this wonderful 5 year old who is so much more than I could have ever dreamed of. She is truly an angel to Charley and I and greatly loved by her little sister.
Where did this baby go? Is she really 5? For lack of keeping up with digital photo files. These first few pics are from the first 6 months of her life. I still see little glimpses of my 5 year old in her baby pictures. I'll tell you going through these brought tears to my eyes and lots of sweet memories.

This is from her first birthday. I thought she was a big girl then but look at the next picture to see my big 5 year old!
Her shirt say it all!!!

More Birthday Celebrations
Kylee had her Birthday party a couple weeks at Build A Bear. She had the best time and had a lot of her favorite friends and family at the party so it was a perfect day for her. I have learned through parties that if the party girl is happy then it was a success. She had fun picking her dog she named Flower, stuffing it, brushing it, naming it, playing games and being sung Happy Birthday to, but most of all she had fun being with her friends and family:)

Kylee with her dog, flower!
Kylee and all her buddies that came to the party.
Kylee's cake and blowing out her candles.

Kylee and her very proud mommy and daddy!

Now I get to share my 5 favorite things or memories of Kylee:
1. She loves the Lord. She reminds me every night to read her bible story to her. She makes up songs about Jesus all the time and I catch little peeks of her heart through these. She says some of the sweetest prayers. She loves church and can tell you so many bible stories.
2. She has a string on her blanket that she has to hold every night before she goes to sleep. I seriously think I will have to cut it off and send it to college with her one day.
3. She tells me and Charley every night before she goes to sleep to check on her, cuddle and do something hard (she says this last one because she thinks if we do something hard she will wake up and get to see us. I have no idea where she gets this from.). She never misses a night telling us this and we do all of the things on her list and she has never woken up. My idea of something hard would be a sweet kiss on the cheek:)
4. She is so sweet to Katie (most of the time) . She has set a good example for her that Katie does everything she does from putting plates in the sink to being an expert at sommersaults. She plays dolls, games and kitchen with her daily.
5. She loves life and is excited about everyday. She ask first things what are we doing and she is pretty happy with just about anything except cleaning or laundry days. She loves most school days and play days with friends.

Charley and I feel honored the Lord is allowing us to raise her and call her our child on Earth. She is truly a joy and we can't believe it has been 5 years.

Happy 5th Birthday Kylee Brooke!!

Daddy Date Day

Last weekend Charley and Kylee had a special date with each other to see High School Musical on Ice Tour (according to Kylee you have to say tour at the end of it). We have been keeping such a busy schedule and no it is not a good thing for us to be as busy as we have been. We started to notice Kylee really struggling with some behavior issues ranging from acting up to crying over little things to only wanting me to take care of her so Charley knew it was time for some 1 on 1 time with daddy. He did all the work, got the tickets himself and made sure Kylee knew it was from him and a date day with daddy. This is definitely what the doctor ordered for her from the minute he told her about the surprise her attitude immediately started to change. They had great time and Charley said it was actually really good. He even admitted to walking around at work singing some of the songs. Kylee is still talking about what a fun time she had and she walks around singing the songs, too cute!!
