Summer Spectacular 2009

Another year of Summer Spectacular has gone by and it was spectacular. This year was the story of Esther. This year I lead a class of 4 year olds for the first time and I loved it! I had a fun time through the whole process. I did manage to break 2 fingers in the decorating process but they feel much better now. My kids love everything about our SS. This year Kylee invited our neighbor, Kayla, to come and she really enjoyed that and so did our neighbor. My sister always comes over to go to it with us and Katie got to have her cousin Ethan in class with her and she loved that. One of the nights of the musical Katie got out in the aisle and started dancing like crazy to the music, we were loving it! One of the favorites is after the musical getting your shirt signed by the performers. The lines are so long and all the kids get the signature and then get a special prize. Yea for another great year of Summer Spectacular.

Swim Lessons

Kylee and Katie took swim lessons again this summer with Mrs. Jody who does a fabulous job teaching and loving the kids. Both the girls did great! I got to go watch Kylee on show day but poor Katie had to miss because she was running 101 fever, uugghh! So here are some fun shots of Kylee swimming. She really improved from last summer. She could swim the whole length of Mrs. Jody's pool using her arms and kicking, float on her back, tread water, and attempt a dive (it looked and sounded more like a belly flop) but she tried. She had a great time too! From what I was told Katie did great too. She can kick hard and swim a few feet by herself. She has showed this off to her at our pool! I am proud of them both!

Kylee's Last Soccer Game

Kylee had her last soccer game and she did great! By the end of the season she had come so far, she made 3 goals and many almost goals, she became more aggressive going after the ball, confident when she had the ball, and just had a blast!! She really does love soccer. She may even play this fall somewhere. She loved having her dad as a coach and he loved spending the time with her. Katie had a blast with her friend at the games. I was really thankful for that because it kept her busy. My dad got to come to all the games and my mom almost all of them and that was fun for us all. Kylee's activities have kept us busy these last few weeks but we love seeing her have fun and next year Katie will get to play and she is excited about that!

Kylee Last Day Of Kindergarten

Here is Kylee coming home from school the last day of Kindergarten. I wanted to make it fun and exciting. Kylee had been saying she would be sad so I had a plan make it fun not sad. I had read in Family Fun about ways to make the end of school fun so that is what I did. I also wanted pictures of Kylee leaving school the same way I had picked her up all year. So the pics are of us picking up Kylee and walking home. There is a sweet picture of Kylee and her friend Anna that we saw at pick up daily. When we got home I had a poster saying Welcome Home First Grader , It's Summertime! and then around it all the fun stuff we plan to do this summer. I also had purple streamers set up for her to run through as she won the Kindergarten race. It was fun! She loved it and never got sad at all, only excited about the summer and next year in 1st grade. This is a tradition we will do each year for both girls. Now we are already enjoying our summer!

Hawaiian Kindergarten Graduation

Well it happened my baby or at least that is what I think she still is graduated from Kindergarten. It seems like just yesterday we walked her to school for the first time and now it is over. The graduation was Hawaiian style with a program. It was cute and fun, upbeat and not sappy. I appreciated the tone as I could have been sad but wasn't and just enjoyed the moment. The K kids sang two cute songs and then each child was called out and received awards. Kylee received 3: Citizenship, Hardworker, and having True Granger spirit! We are very proud of our little Girl who is now a First Grader! She had a fun show. My mom and sister and her kids came to the program. One of Kylee's favorite things is that my sister stayed and had lunch with her. I brought all the little kids home so she could have some one on one with Aunt T. Kylee talked about this for days.
Kylee's teacher has been out the whole month of May, she's been on bedrest, so she sent the class a cake with their picture on it for the graduation. We loved Kylee's teacher and have missed her greatly the last month. We had a great sub but it just wasn't her teacher. She is having a baby in July so we are praying for her and the baby and can't wait to see her next year. She was truly the best teacher and fit Kylee's personality to a T. She was fun and really loved being a teacher. I enjoyed working with her and watching her teach the kids. Before school started last year everytime we drove by the school or I walked by the school or thought of school I prayed for her year and teacher, God truly answered that prayer perfectly. From the start how she ended up in this class I can see God's hand in the whole thing. The kids in the class were so sweet and good. I need to start praying for the same thing daily for first grade.

Kylee's Beach Party

Well it was called a beach party but due to a very huge amount of rain the festivities were moved inside and the rain stopped. Kylee had her end of year Kindergarten party and had a blast. I don't think the kids cared that it was not all water games they just had a blast playing. I really could not believe that we were celebrating the end of Kindergarten. Kylee loved the party and esp. loved the toe grab game with marbles and icy water. I was a volunteer at the hula hoop station the entire time so I only got to leave to watch a couple and snap a couple pics.
