Girl Funnies
Kylee and Katie do things all the time that I say write this down or make a note of this but I don't and I never remember. I really wanted to remember these two things. The first picture is a schedule Kylee made for us to discuss The Fruits of The Spirit at dinner. If you click on the picture you will see each fruit of the spirit and a day to discuss it. She did this all on her own. She hung it on the refrigerator and would remind of the thing we were to discuss. We loved her sweet idea and did discuss each fruit. This girl loves the Fruits of the Spirit verse and is constantly asking me to do something with them. Kylee is very organized and loves to plan stuff. I know she likes this and feeds off it so most the time within reason I will let her use these traits of her personality. I will admit it some of the time can go overboard but we love seeing her grow into who she is and how the Lord will use her.
Now to Miss Katie, She brought home a paper (see below) that they did at school that said I wish I was a Princess! I really don't know if they read a book or talked about wishes or what but her teachers stopped me and told me that she was so funny about this and determined that she would be a princess one day. Like Of Course I will be a princess! They both said they got a good laugh. On the same princess note Katie tells us all the time that she will live in a pink castle one day. I can live with her but Charley and Kylee will have to knock on the door to come in. Oh Katie you keep us laughing all the time. I know one day she will realize she will not live in a pink castle and be a princess but for now we will let her dream:)
Father's Day
We had fun celebrating Fathers Day with our wonderful Daddy! Charley really is a terrific, hands-on dad who loves his girls so much. He truly has fun with them and would rather be with us than doing anything else. In fact, he had been at a wedding in Austin the day before and he got up at 4:15 to make it home to celebrate the whole day with us. The girls were waiting with presents and cards they had made. We met my dad and mom for a nice lunch at Charley's favorite pizza/Italian restaurant-I Fratelli. It was yummy and we had a nice time with my parents and I enjoyed getting to spend time with my own Dad! Then that evening we spent some time swimming. I am pretty sure Charley was wiped out by then after being up so early but he didn't want to miss out on any family time. I really did tell him he could take a nap, etc. but he chose to hang out with the girls and me. We love Charley very much!
Summer Spectacular 2010-Elijah
We had another wonderful year at Summer Spectacular-Elijah-On Fire For God! It was great. I learned so much about the story I never knew and the girls learned the whole story. This year our small group volunteered for the First Grade classes and I got to teach in the lesson room. I loved it and loved that I had Kylee and her buddies to teach. The show was great: It rained, there was fire, there was some Boom Boom Pow, line dancing, singing, laughing, and fun. Unfortunately, the girls both ended up with strep throat on Friday. They missed their class time but they sat on the top row in the upper area and watched the last night show. They were SICK at it and I kept trying to get them to leave but they would not. I was so glad that Kylee and I hung around Thursday night and did all the autographs and stuff. That is always fun. I was sad Katie missed it but she will make it next year. The other bummer was that Friday was Charley's Birthday and we had a day of fun planned but instead we visited the doctor and spent time at home:( I did make his famous Ice Cream Cake and the girls loved it and so did Charley. All in All it was fun even if there were some sickness and doctor visits.

Katie's Dance Recital
Katie had an amazing dance recital. She did wonderful, looked adorable, and had the best time. We were so proud of her. Her tap dance was to Think About Such Things and her ballet was to Another Hallelujah. She is at a christian dance studio so all the songs were so inspiring and sweet. I really enjoyed the whole recital that I saw. I was also the room mom with my good friend Alyssa so we got to spend extra time with Katie and Camryn's class and that was really fun because they were such a sweet group of little girls. Before the recital I had really not considered Katie going back to dance next year. I am big on trying new things and then deciding what we want to stick with but after the recital I just don't know. Katie talks about dance all the time and has been teaching Kylee all the dances and moves. She was on a high from the experience. You could tell it was fun for her and she really did love it. So now I am back to giving it the summer to decide about next year. I will also let Katie's thoughts about it play a part in our decision. I know she loved the whole experience and I am so happy about that. Way to Go Katie!!

Kylee's Last Day of First Grade
I can't believe Kylee is done with first grade. The last day was bittersweet. As excited as I was for summer to begin we really did love the first grade year and Kylee's sweet class. She was very sad also and has cried some sad tears since. I know once we get the summer rolling she will get over it. She has grown so much this year in all ways. The first pic below is her first day of first grade and then the last day. She had the best year and I am already praying for her second grade year to be the same. Kylee loves our tradition we started last year of running through the streamers and then being greeted with the Welcome Home sign with all our fun summer things. Then that evening we took the girls to the Rangers game to celebrate the end of First Grade!

1st Grade Celebration
Kylee had her 1st grade celebration yesterday at school. My mom, dad, sister, and her kiddos got to come. All the students receive 2 awards at the celebration so everyone gets to celebrate equally. Kylee received the Gold Lasso award for All A's and the Boots Walk the Line award for All E's in citizenship. Way to Go Kylee!! We are proud of the great 1st grader that she is. She also received the 6th 6 weeks PE award. This was her first award for specials classes. Then the first graders got up and sang Don't Worry, Be Happy! It was so cute and they sang really well. Kylee was all smiles during the whole celebration. Just can't believe that girl is about to be a 2nd grader!! (I didn't get great pics of the day but the best I got are below. My camera always takes darker pics in the auditorium:( )
