Mississippi Trip

This summer my mom, sister, our kids, went on an adventure back to Picayune, MS where we all grew up. It was time to show our kids (3 had never been there before) what life is like where we grew up. We left early, all 7 of us piled into my minivan. It was crowded but great. Everyone did awesome. We made it into town to eat at the best fish house in the USA:))! Cuevas Fish House, it was wonderful. The gumbo is the best. Then off to bed after a long day. The next day we toured Picayune, it is small, so didn't take long but we had great lunch at Betty K's with friends, played at the park, drove by both houses we lived at in Picayune, feasted on the best bunch of cookies around at Paul's Pastry, swam and wore ourselves completely out. Then Sunday morning we got up and went to church at our old church. To say people were surprised to see us is an understatement. It was great to see everyone. The church had grown but it is so different than church that I go to now. It was nice, really nice! Then after church we went to Slidell, LA to visit with a friend and her family. The lunch was great, but the company better. Then we drove on to Shreveport for the night. On Monday morning we woke up an met our family best friends, Buddy and Donna Christ, and had breakfast at Cracker Barrel. It was a wonderful time and the kids were so good. Then off to go home. We had the best trip. The kids were wonderful the whole time and everything went smooth. What will our road trip be this summer!!
