Spring Break Adventure

This year during Spring Break we really wanted to do something funa nd get away for a couple days with our family so we headed down to Austin. None of us had spent much time there so it was a adventure for all of us. We left early on Wednesday morning and began the journey to Austin. We stopped at a yummy bakery and got kolaches on the way. Then we made it to Austin and headed to a park area to go paddle boating. It was so fun but very hard. We enjoyed the nice weather and it was a first for all of us. We then decided to head to Salt Lick BBQ for an early dinner. This place came highly recommended and was so good. Then we went to San Marcos for some outlet mall shopping, FUN!! When we got back to the hotel the girls had fun swimming at the indoor pool. The next morning we started early by going to the Capital. It was neat to do some walking around and exploring our states history esp. since Charley and I did not grow up in Texas. This weekend was South by Southwest Music festival so everything was very crowded but that didn't stop us from having fun. We then went on a hunt for a Food Truck for lunch. These have been popular down there and we saw a fun show on Food Network The Great Food Truck Challenge and one was from Austin. We didn't end up eating there but we did have a super yummy food truck meal. Then off to the Austin Childrens Museum. It was so great and fun. The girls loved it! We then went to the Park and played for a couple hours. We were exhausted by this point so we ate a early dinner and headed back to the hotel to swim and play. The next morning we had donuts on our mind, BIG donuts. We went to Round Rock Donuts and they are known for their huge donuts. Lets just say yum! So good but we all had way to much of a sugar high. This was our last stop on our way home. We really had the best time and I am so thankful for this type of fun with my family.
