Happy 7th Birthday Kylee!!

Today our precious first born turned 7. How is it possible that the little baby who cried all the time is now 7 and only cries a little:) Really she is just sweet and a pure joy to have as a daughter and I feel blessed that the Lord has entrusted us with her. She is still as smiley as ever and has a great personality. She is sensitive to other peoples feelings and tries real hard to do her best in all things. A month ago she earned her second time to eat with her teacher. When they do this they get to have a friend join them. The first time she asked her friend Madilyn to eat with her and then the second time came around. She talked to Charley and I about who to ask. She said she really wanted to ask Anna but didn't want to hurt Madilyn's feelings. We told her pray about it and she would know what to do. Well, she came home and said I decided it would be a good idea to talk to Madilyn about it and tell her my thoughts and see what she thought. She said Madilyn understood and I am not upset about it at all. Wow! I was so proud of Kylee for going to her friend and talking it out and not fussing or fretting over it. This is just one of the things Kylee did that shows she is growing up and I am so proud of the young lady she is becoming. She is constantly thinking about ways to give or do things for other people. Some are outrageous and others we really want to help her out with. She is great with Katie and loves all Katie's little friends and is sweet to them also, always including them. She is an avid reader. Really saying she loves to read doesn't even describe it. She loves Rainbow Fairy books right now, mainly because there was one with the fairy being named Kylie. She loves her extended family with her whole heart. Her friends are what make life exciting for her. She would have someone over every day if I would allow it. She loves to go to gymnastics and sing. She got an ipod shuffle for her birthday and sings all the time. She still will choose a sit down restaurant over a fast food, preferably Cheddars. She has a major sweet tooth, almost to a fault! She loves chocolate and ice cream. Her favorite food is roast and she can not stand mashed potatoes or really any potato.
She is such a joy to Charley, Katie, and her momma! Her heart bubbles over with love and joy. We pray everyday that she grows to love the Lord more and more and follow his will for her. On the night before her birthday we always tell the birth story of the day they were born and we always remind her of the verse that was on her birth announcement from Jeremiah that talks about The plans I have for you says the Lord, plans to give you a hope and a future. That is not every word but that is the hope we have for her to follow the Lord and his will for her.
We love you Kylee and are proud to be your mommy and daddy. Happy Birthday!!

Easter in Arkansas

We woke up early Easter morning to check out the goodies from the Easter Bunny. The girls were so excited and had a blast seeing everything. We then quickly headed outside for the first egg hunt of the day. Kylee literally ran everywhere to find the eggs where Katie would inspect each one, shake it, or see what color it was, and was in no hurry. Then we got ready for church and enjoyed a nice church service with all of Charley's family. Then we came back to his Nanny and Papaws for a nice lunch and another egg hunt. This one some eggs had money so the stakes were higher and Kylee loved it. Katie continued her routine and didn't worry about how many eggs she had just enjoyed the experience. Then it was time to come home and poor Kylee just cries hard every time we leave her Meme and Pops. She loves them so but it just breaks my heart for her. We had a great Easter weekend in AR.

Friday in AR/Spring Sing

This Easter weekend we decided to head to AR to visit Charley's family and take the girls to Spring Sing at Harding. Yes, we are getting them interested in Harding early on but we will pray that when it comes time for college they will go where the Lord wants them to. We got them out of school early on Thursday and made our way to AR. On Friday morning it was beautiful and we spend the majority of the day outside. The girls hunted eggs, went on walks, ran around, went to the park, played all sorts of cards, colored eggs, and had fun with our 2nd cousins. It was a great day. Then on Saturday we went to Searcy and drove around looking at sights and then went to Harding. We ate in the student center. It is so nice now. Then we went for a walk on the lawn, sat in swings, visited my first college dorm, and hung at the lily pond. I ran into my uncle and had a nice chat and several friends from here in town while at Harding. Then we went to Spring Sing. Kylee loved it and sat and watched the entire time. Katie slept through the first half and then was a little cranky but perked up to finish it out. Kylee still talks about liking it. It was so surreal to be back at Harding married with two kids and showing them the sights. I loved it and thanked God for the life he has blessed me with. When we got back to Newport, we went straight to dinner celebrating Charley's Papaws birthday. Then we headed home to get ready for the Easter Bunny and go to bed. It was a great day!

Kylee's First Field Trip

Kylee finally had her first ever field trip with her first grade. They went to the zoo and had a blast. What Kylee was the most excited about was the bus ride. She couldn't wait to ride on the big yellow bus. She was excited all morning and got up very early to get ready. I met up with her at the zoo and Amber and I and our groups discover Texas with our girls we had. They laughed, ran, talked, giggled, and had a blast. You could sign your kids out at the zoo and they could go with you for more zoo time or to go home but Kylee wanted to finish up her field trip with a ride on the bus with her friends. She talked for days about this being the best field trip ever.
