Katie and The Mermaids
Just a little story I want to remember. This morning at breakfast we were talking to the girls about our summer vacation to the beach and all the fun stuff we would be doing like swimming, going to a beach with lots of shells, and being by the water. Katie gets the most excited look on her face and in her high pitch 3 year old voice squeals: and we will see all the little mermaids:) She really thinks mermaids are real, think she likes Disney Ariel!!

Kylee's Open House
Tonight was Kylee's Open House at her school. She was looking forward to it and showing off all her hard work. The Kindergarten classes had just finished a unit on Farm so everything was farm. They went all out in the halls and classrooms. I was very impressed. When we got to Kylee's class she had a scavenger hunt on her desk to tell us what to do and look for in the room. So our tour guide Miss Kylee showed us around. She showed us her work, class graphs, flow maps, read us Miss Wishy Washy, showed us her writing work, and had a blast doing it all. Katie also got in on the fun and posed for some pictures. We also visited the Book Fair at school. The art teacher had matted all the schools special art work and so we stopped by to see Kylee's very beautiful flower she did. It was a fun night and I am glad Kylee loves school and is excited to show it off!

February Wrap Up
Yes, I know it is March 6 but February came and went I still had a couple things to document so here is the wrap up. We had Katies Birthday, Valentine Day, my sweet little niece Ella's Baby Dedication, and a month of strep, bronchitis, new found drug allergies, sinus infection, and did I mention strep!!! Yes, we spent the majority of the month at either Kylee's doc or my doc. UUGH!! Hopefully Kylee and I are both on the mend. Kylee poor thing has had strep pretty much the whole month of Feb. She is still on her latest antibiotic which makes 3rd for the month. We are hoping this works but if not off to an ENT for tonsils out. Which I am fine with lets just get this girl well. I enjoyed a four day bout with bronchitis that led me to a new antibiotic I had never been on. Come to find out I am allergic to it:) I had a head to toe rash last week and just finished a steroid pack. Luckily no rash and I will never take Factive again!!!
Well, when we weren't sick we did have a great Valentine Eve celebration with a fancy dinner as the girls called it and fun heart shaped pancakes on Valentine Day. Kylee also had a fun ice cream Valentine party at her school and she and Katie were both sugared up from all the partying.
Now it is March, I am so looking forward to Spring Break, warmer weather, and no more illness at my house!!

Katie's Birthday Party
Katie had a wonderful birthday party at Paradise Pond. It is a great place for this age to get to run around and play. They have a huge playscape, jump house with slide, train area, dressup area, rollercoaster mini, circle bike, dinosaur, lego, basketball, kitchen, and climbing wall. It is great and Katie and her friends had a blast! Since her birthday is Valentines Day it was fun to celebrate on her actual special day. She had yummy cupcakes with rings on top ( I didn't want rings on top but they were put there and were a huge hit with the kids). Katie was all smiles when we all sang Happy Birthday to her. Then it was time to open presents and she was so excited and said Thank you to all her friends. She is such a big girl and needed no help opening her gifts. We have loved playing with them all at home and so has Kylee. Then we got to play some more. It was truly one of my favorite parties. The ladies that helped with it did everything and were very organized. All our stuff was ready to go when the party was over. I love parties that I just get to enjoy my birthday girls and have fun with them. I was recommend this location to anyone.

Happy 3rd Birthday Katie!
WOW I can't believe Katie is 3 today. The years have really flown by and she seems like such a big girl to me. She woke up early this morning and just happened to be in my bed (long story) and when I said do you know what today is she got a big smile and sat up and said "Lets talk about my birthday!" How fun to carry on a conversation with Katie. She is so full of life. God knew exactly the type of little girl Katie would be and she is the perfect fit for our family. We had a full day of Valentine Celebrating-Birthday Celebrating (a party post to come later in the week) and family fun. Since Katie is 3 I thought I would share things in sets of 3. Like below are 3 pictures of some of her favorite things to do at home:
1. Katie is a true princess. She loves to dress up and Bibbiddi Bobbiddi Boo her sister and friends. She has to have the full dress up on from slippers to crown!
2. She loves to paint. Ask me almost everyday and is content for a while to paint.
3. We play baby dolls most days and now we have added stuffed animals as our favorite. Katie is a very sweet mommy to her babies. She always makes sure they are fed, dressed, and have toys. They do get occasional spankings if they act up. I always ask her what they did and she tells me they hit their friend every time. I hope she isn't speaking from experience:)Those are 3 of Katie's favorite things and here are 3 of my favorite about her:
1. She gives the best squeezy neck hugs. She wraps her arms so tight and just stays there. I get the best of these after naptime or if I have been gone for awhile. These are always accompanied with a I love you. She also loves to give her friends hugs, maybe too much sometimes, but she just loves people so much.
2. She has been watching Kylee learn to read and Kylee tries to read everything so now Katie does to. For example at night when I read their bible story to them Kylee will try to read some and then it is Katies turn and she says every time, while she is pointing to words like her sister just did, God is always with you! I love it!
3. She does not like to be alone. This can be a challenge but she is my constant buddy. She hangs out with me and talks non stop so I have very little time to get lonely when Katie is around. I hope she continues to like me this much and tell me all the things she does now. I wish I wrote down all the things she says they are quite funny -like when she came to me crying the other day. She sat on the ground and said I fell down (she pointed to her knee) and says my "kneebow" hurts. I couldn't stop laughing and I said what and she told me Oh I mean my knee hurts. Silly girl!
3 things Katie has learned this year:
1. All her colors and most shapes
2. She can spell her name and trace over it with a little help
3. To count to 15 some days and higher if in the mood.
3 of her favorite places to go:
1. Church
2. School
3. Park
3 of her favorite foods:
1. Waffles
2. Ravioli
3. Grapes
I could go on and on about little Miss Katie but I will stop. I am so thankful God blessed our family with her. Happy 3rd Birthday Kaitlyn Mary!

1-100 Days of Kindergarten
Kylee celebrated her 100th day of Kindergarten this week. It is so amazing to think she has been in school that many days. She loves everything about school and is doing great. When I think how far I have come in 100 days I am amazed. From complete overwhelming to a peace an excitement about Kylee's school, teacher, friends, pretty much everything. She made a 100 day shirt to wear for her celebration. We bought heart jewels and she glued them down into a 100. They had a parade that I didn't get to go to but she told me she loved it! They made all kinds of things from 100 day glasses to a bag of 100 snack items. She brought home a 100 day number chart colored. I asked her what she did and she said it was a pattern but this was really boring. That is the first time she has ever said something about school was boring. It will not be her last I am sure of that. Anyway in honor of 100 days of school, I posted pictures from her 50th day of school-they had a 50's party and she of course had to wear her poodle skirt. I also posted a picture of her 1st day of school-awwww! So long ago:)

The picture of Kylee and Charley below is from Charleys Watch Dogs (Dads.Of. Great. Students) Dad volunteer day at her school. This is a day that dad go up and spend the day helping out. Charley did everything from take things off the wall to play legos in the hall with some kids. The idea of the day is for there to be a male presence on campus. He got to each lunch with Kylee and she loved that. I couldn't have been more proud of Charley for spending his day at Kylee's school making an impact not just on Kylee but on other kids too!

To Pierce or Not to Pierce, That is the Question
The letter above was written by Kylee this past Monday. It says "I want my ears pierced. I mean it" in her own cute 5 year old handwriting. I received this letter from her very secretively. Here is the story: When we got home Monday, Kylee ran upstairs and didn't come down for a while. When she did I was cooking dinner and she placed this letter secretively by my purse and ran in the other room. She yelled to me Mom I wrote you a letter. I read it and can figure out most except the two worded pierced. So she comes in and helps me out and I immediately say why did you run away and she said she was scared to ask. I assure her asking this is nothing to be scared of and she can ask me and tell me anything. So she seems better and I say what does I mean it mean and she says it means I am not scared to get my ears pierced and I mean I really want to do it this time (side story: It has been mentioned by her before but after I tell her what they do she says no thanks so I guess this time she really wants it done). I tell her we will talk to daddy and get back to her on it. Since that day she has brought it up twice. So here is my thought. Ear piercing-not really a big deal-almost every adult girl I know has their ear pierced. It is more not if we will do it but when will we do it. I really don't want to make a big deal out of something small and not let her do it. Her birthday is in 2 months and she will be 6 so that may be a good present for her. My only thought is my baby is growing up and that is Charley's too. Any thoughts on ear piercing out there????
