Veteran's Day Programs

On November 11, we were blessed to be able to attend two veterans day programs. Between Charley and I we have lots of family that served in the Armed Forces or are serving in them right now. Charley took the day off work to be able to make it to both programs. We went to Katie's first and enjoyed special songs about veterans. There were several veterans being honored at the program. Katie was beaming by the fact that we came to the program. Then we got her out of school, had a special lunch, and headed to Kylee's school for her program. Her program was the big 2nd grade program of the year. They had tons of wonderful songs they practiced and performed. Kylee even had her first speaking part and did great. She spoke loud, slowly and clear. (Katie asked me when Kylee finished did she speak slowly. We had worked very hard on that). The whole program was so sweet that I teared up a little. These kids knew those songs well! We of course had heard all of them for weeks so it was great to see them finally performed. There are lots of 2nd graders as you can see somewhere around 150. It is the biggest grade at her school. The whole school (around 700 kids) came to the performance so it was a packed house. I think everyone really enjoyed it and we were so proud of Kylee and all the 2nd graders. We loved watching both our girls shine at their programs. Way to Go Kylee and Katie!
