Living Library

A tradition in 2nd grade at the end of the year is to do a Living Library. Each child researches a famous figure from history and dresses like them and tells about them. Kylee was Pocahontas, perfect for our Disney loving family. She did tons of research and knew all about Pocahontas. We got to go see her in action along with a lot of her friends. She stood very still until someone pushed the "button" on her hand. Then she told us all about Pocahontas. She did a wonderful job!

2nd Grade End Of Year Awards

Kylee had a wonderful 2nd grade year and was rewarded for a great year at the end of year awards. She got All A's for the year, good citizenship for the year, and helper award. We are so proud of her and so thankful for her teachers and school.

Weekend with Bitsie

We had the best time dog sitting little Bitsie for our friends. We had no plans this weekend and taking care of Bitsie filled every single minute of our weekend. We loved having Bitsie with us. We went on walks, played in the backyard with the toys, laughed, cleaned up dog stuff, hurried home if we left, let her go on a car ride for Sonic, and the girls "fought" over who could hold her:) It was fun for them and reminded Charley and I how we are not ready for a dog yet. We love dogs but they are a lot of work. We hope to have little Bitsie spend more time with us to give us our little dog fix!

Field Day 2011

Field day at our elementary school is so fun. The first week got rained out, I'm talking horrible downpour, lightning, thunder the entire day so the next Friday was beautiful weather. The goal of our field days is to get as wet as you can! They are not competitive which I love, just FUN!! There are tons of relays and lots of team activities where they work together. This year we all went to watch Kylee and told Katie the whole time next year you get to do all this. She was ready this year. We love Kylee's class and all her friends had such a terrific time together. The theme this year was Sherlock Holmes, Solve a Mystery so all of it had to do with puzzles and solving things. At the end the traditional 5th grade rocket action was done! This was the first year I saw it and it was so neat. FUN!! FUN!!

Field Trip to Casa Manana

Kylee's 2nd grade went to Casa Manana for a field trip. They saw Wizard of Oz and it was super cute and fun. I got to go and realized that I didn't take one single picture of me and Kylee together:( I had a group of 3 girls to make sure got to where they needed to be and we had a great time. After the play we went to the park and played and had lunch. The favorite thing at the park was a spinning thing, that made me want to vomit, but they all had to do it and even Ms. Y. This was a super fun day!

Last Preschool Day

What to say about these two little cuties! They have been together in preschool and we have carpooled the last two years. The really great thing is they get to go to Kindergarten together too. On the last day of preschool I made a stop by the donut shop and we celebrated graduation together. Love these sweet friends and I see a future of having fun together between these two!!

Read to Your Bunny-Last one

This year I took Katie up to our Elementary school for Read to Your Bunny. The librarian read a few books always with a fun theme around it and had the kids do a fun activity. This year for the last one she made it a Luau with the kids making grass skirts and eating fun foods. Katie loved this day once a month with me. I can't believe this is her last one. She has grown up this year and is ready for Kindergarten.
