Great Wolf Lodge Fun!

So my last post of 2008....We loved our Christmas stay at the Great Wolf Lodge. It is the most kid friendly hotel I have ever been to. They had pj storytime (which is the first set of pictures), this game hunt thing for older kids, singing at the clocktower, and of course the big waterpark. It was a blast. My girls loved just staying in a hotel room, which we just stayed in the normal family room and it was a big room. I was quite impressed. Everything about our visit was great. We got there around 4 p.m.,checked in and changed into our swim suits. We did the waterpark for the next 3 hours with a dinner break, quick one. Then we took quick baths and changed into Pj's for the storytime. Then we had a sweet snack and back to our rooms. We got up around 8:00 and had breakfast at the buffet downstairs which was so yummy and they had a kid area which was so just right for kids. Then we packed up our car and headed back to the waterpark to stay until we were tired. We were pretty early so it was very uncrowded. The girls loved all the little slides and Katie kept saying, "I do it again!!" over and over. Kylee loved the big tube ride with me and Charley and didn't like another one. We all loved the wave pool. By 12:30 we were exhausted and Katie was close to crashing so we changed and left. Kylee was so sad that she cried not a temper tantrum cry just a true sad I have to leave cry. We told her it was a definite do again. She still says it was her favorite gift and I know Charley and I both loved the time with our favorite girls.

Christmas at Home!

This year was a very first for our family of 4-we woke up at our own home on Christmas morning. That has never happened before and it was a nice treat to get to do this year. Katie woke up pretty early and waited semi-patiently for Kylee to come down. She is posing by her stocking and gifts waiting for Kylee. The girls dug into their stockings first and then they each took turns opening their own gifts. Katie was so funny because she waited until every single piece of tape and wrapping paper was off her gift before we could know what it was-she can't tell us not yet, don't know yet until it was all off, even though you could tell and then she would squeal-esp over Barbie Diamond Castle stuff. That is all she asked Santa for and he did deliver. Kylee was quick to open and ready to move on to the next gift but at the end ready to get it all out to see it all at once. I know we have tested it all out now. We got to eat cinnamon rolls and sausage balls (the girls did not like those), Charley and I enjoyed it all. Then we played with toys and got ready to go to Grandmommy and Grandaddys house to eat lunch and open gifts with Aunt Tammy, Uncle Brian, Ethan, and Ella.

When we got to my parents house, the kids played with my dads major train set up and waited while we finished up for lunch. We love having my new neice around for her first Christmas. Katie and Ethan had a ball running around and Kylee helped the adults out.

My parents got Katie and Ethan little Power Wheels cars that they loved and since it was such a pretty day they really got to enjoy them outside. Kylee tried to ride them but you can see how her feet had to fit.

While the little kiddos slept Kylee played Sorry with the adults and had a ball feeling like the older kid. We had a great Christmas day and then when Katie woke up we left to finish our fun at the Great Wolf Lodge. One more blog to come.....

Christmas Eve 2008

All our Christmas fun was spent all month but we really started enjoying our family fun Christmas Eve morning when the girls got to open a few presents that they had gotten for each other and a few from Charley and I. Kylee picked out a Snow White Barbie for Katie and Katie picked out a write a book art kit for Kylee. They were really excited about that. Then we had them open a gift to both of them from Charley and I. We were both really excited about this gift. It was a night stay at the Great Wolf Lodge on Christmas night. We got them new swim suits and pictures of the hotel and water park to put in the package,Kylee understood what it was and kept saying thanks over and over. They tried on their suits and kept them on the rest of the morning. I will post more about our fun their later. We also enjoyed the Christmas Eve Candlelight service at church. When we got home from church Kylee wrote Santa a letter, the girls chose a yummy Santa cookie and milk to sit out for him. Then we spread reindeer food on the front yard. We settled in for the night with reading Twas the night Before Christmas and The Christmas story. The girls were so tired they were out cold by 8:30. Yea!!! Because mommy and daddy were so tired too!!
